SCDOT right of way maintenance includes cleaning/grading of roadside ditches and driveway pipes within the SCDOT right of way.
The website will be updated when project or SCDOT maintenance information is acquired or updated.
Please visit the Shell Point Drainage Improvement Program website at https://shellpointdrainage.beaufortcountysc.gov for program information, SCDOT maintenance schedule updates and individual project updates. We also welcome you to sign up for the Shell Point Drainage Improvement Program email newsletter as well. The newsletter will be sent out to inform Shell Point citizens of when changes occur to maintenance locations and schedules, project schedules and advertise public meetings for the Shell Point Drainage Improvement Program.
There will be opportunities to provide feedback in person during public meeting comment periods, online via the contact us form on the project’s website and via email at Shellpointdrainage@bcgov.net.
To date the program is funded through Beaufort County Stormwater Utility funds. A FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant has been applied for and is currently being considered by FEMA. Beaufort County is also applying for a South Carolina Office of Resiliency - American Rescue Plan Act (SCOR-ARPA) grant for stormwater infrastructure projects while exploring other funding sources.
